More About Bremerton

We've been to the Bremerton Marina twice now, the first time was in the Pelican. Both times we tied up on the inside of the breakwater, mainly because there was no one else there. We really enjoy the view out into the harbor, and in winter there isn't too much foot traffic out that way.

We find the ferry traffic to be an added benefit...the car ferries as usual and also the Kitsap Transit Foot Ferry to Port Orchard (which is fun) and the fast passenger ferry to Seattle. They begin quite early in the morning and are still making trips after we are in bed. So, it can be a little noisy. They are especially cool to watch in the dark.

One thing isn't so great, and that's the wave action from the fast ferry. We were jolted a few times, with lines being strained and fenders doing their job for sure. It doesn't last long but it's something to consider when staying at that marina. There is plenty of other guest dock space, but like I said, we really enjoy the view.

Sea lions pass by fairly regularly, and it's a special treat when they come inside the marina. A little creepy at night when you can hear them and not see them!

We had a very nice trip back to the Foss, close to 60 degrees and lots of sunshine.

As usual, we wished we could have kept cruising...
